There are times that my interest in the web wanes a bit, namely when it's special section time at my day (though I actually work at night) job.
Add in a holiday week when the department's short a couple of people, and you get a six-day work week with heaping helpings of overtime. I'll probably feel better about it when the paycheck arrives, but for now, I'm bushed.

On the plus side, the section turned out pretty well, as you can see over to the right there. The high school staff decided to go with a kind of "Survivor" theme, which turned out better than I was initially dreading. All the photos inside match the theme, which is a damn sight better than the file photos I normally use with this section.
We also had little Survivor-y page toppers and little boxes called "Survival Kits" that list things teams or players will need to do or watch out for on their way to a successful season. The writers were supposed to write these themselves, but most didn't so I had to try and cobble a box together based on the story.
Everybody at work seemed pretty happy with the finished product, and I haven't see any corrections run in the paper yet (which is a bit of a miracle since I was forced to proof all 120-plus team capsules myself when they moved the section's print time up by a day).
